Wireless and mobile technology company Department 13 International (ASX:D13) has continued to actively promote the advantages of its commercial counter-drone platform to the U.S. government with a successful live demonstration for a number of national security agencies.
The live demonstration was attended by representatives from the Defense, Homeland Security, Law Enforcement and Intelligence communities, and is expected to be followed up with another exhibition for a significant Department of Defense client later this month.
The demonstration covered how D13 counter-drone technology can acquire and simultaneously take control of multiple commercial drones, capture video transmissions from these drones and effect a controlled landing of the drones at a designated safe zone.
The platform uses sophisticated and novel methods to manipulate drones, allowing users to automatically detect drones and stop, redirect or safely land them.
D13 held initial live technology demonstrations and presentations for leading U.S. defence industry contractors and security system corporations involved in securing and protecting critical infrastructure and public sporting facilities.
D13 is finalising the lease for a new research and development facility in the Baltimore Washington Corridor, at the heart of the U.S.’s fourth largest marketplace, positioned between Washington, D.C. and Baltimore.
This facility places D13 at the heart of the U.S. military, political and intelligence communities.
The company has meanwhile grown its team to 13 employees and 10 contractors.
The team represents a combined 130 years of technology development experience and benefits from leadership including non-executive director Gavin Rezos, who also serves as executive chairman of Alexium International (ASX:AJX), that is developing leading edge chemical solutions for the military and commercial sectors.
Proactive Investors is a global leader reporting financial news, media, research and hosts events for listed emerging growth companies and investors across four continents.
